In response to Yolo County Public Health Guidelines, preventative measures have been put in place that include the postponement of facility reservations, special events and some recreational activities. If you are registered for an activity or have a facility reservation that has been affected by these measures and have not yet been contacted, please email us at registration@cityofdavis.org AIR Quality: We monitor the air quality throughout the day for the safety of our participants and staff. When air quality reaches 150, all outdoor programs are canceled and brought indoors if possible. If poor air quality conditions persist at medium levels, but remain throughout the day, we may also cancel as we do not want to expose staff to prolonged conditions. When programs are canceled, we will send information to the email listed in our registration system. The Parks and Community Services Department mission is to create and enhance the quality of life for Davis residents and its visitors by providing a diverse array of programs, services and recreational facilities. The department consists of three divisions: Community Services, Aquatics and Parks & Urban Forestry. A variety of recreational opportunities are provided for residents of all ages, including aquatics, alternative recreation for persons with disAbilities, gymnastics and dance programs, outdoor education, specialty camps, special interest classes, teen services, senior services, youth and adult sports, para-transit, community rental facilities, athletic fields, parks, picnic areas and management of our urban forest. We are also proud to be responsible for the oversight and maintenance of over 485 acres of parks, greenbelts and an abundance of street trees. The Parks & Community Services Department is also host to three of the City's Advisory Commissions, including the Recreation and Park Commission, the Senior Citizens Commission and the Tree Commission.
